Jackson Machinery, Inc.® will refurbish or remanufacture most models of existing blow molding machines. JMI’s origins are from the Hayssen Manufacturing Company, Inc. Hayssen sold their blow molding division to Cincinnati Milacron in the early 90’s. JMI later acquired the prints and service rights for the entire Hayssen blow molding products, all of which we continue to provide parts and service for. In the mid 90’s JMI began to branch out as manufactures representative for Sterling Davis Standard, Automa, Improved/Impco, Techne and MBK. From that experience as a manufacturers representative we began to rebuild the above mentioned brands as used machinery. This is still a very important part of our business. As a result of those and other experiences we have also become the rebuilders of Hartigs, Uniloys, Bekums and most any other type of blow molding machine in the industry.

REMANUFACTURING vs REFURBISHING A USED MACHINE:
These two processes are the same with regard to the cleaning and fixing of a used machine. They differ greatly when it comes to the additional services that Jackson Machinery provides to the customer’s used machine. In a remanufactured machine, JMI takes the process further by disassembling the machine completely, replacing used parts with brand new, putting on new gates and guards if necessary, adding closed loop control systems and in general bringing the machine up to the standards of a brand new machine. Because JMI is also a manufacturer of new machines, our service technicians understand the steps that need to be taken when disassembling and reassembling a used machine. Each machine is unique. It may have been well cared for or greatly abused. The core steel remains the same in both kinds of machines. What JMI does is return the machine to 90% of what it was when purchased brand new and sometimes 110% when we remanufacture and add the various state of the art control systems
REMANUFACTURING A MACHINE
Remanufacturing includes changing the hydraulic system to the newer designs which results in a saving in electrical costs and productivity. By removing the old relays from the machine and installing solid state control systems with color touch screens the machine becomes more precise and the cycle times repeatable which is what you would expect if you purchased a brand new machine. The cost to disassemble a machine completely, replace worn elements and reassemble it with the new components is generally in the range of 50% of the cost of a new machine. Remanufacturing a used machine into a modern, technically up to date machine allows the machine to be directly competitive with a brand new machine.

REFURBISHING A MACHINE
Refurbishing a used machine provides a nice, newly painted and clean machine that runs the same way it originally did. In other words there is no improvement on cycle times and the electrical costs remain the same. There is no real technological improvement of the machine from the year it was originally manufactured.
